Can we connect SIP phones to Aircall?

Yes, you can connect your IP phones (or IP softphones) to your Aircall account using SIP credentials.

You can have 2 use cases here:

  • Either you already have configured IP phones and you want to use your existing SIP credentials with Aircall
  • Or you have the device (or softphone) but you need Aircall to provide you with SIP credentials

We outline below how to set your Aircall account with IP phones.

In order to setup this feature, open your Aircall dashboard (https://dashboard.aircall.io. You need to have Admin rights to access the Dashboard) and click on the user who will use a SIP phone. Open the section "Forward-to devices" and hit "add a SIP device.

Once you have clicked on Add a SIP device, you will be able to choose if you want to plug your existing SIP address or if you need a new one.

Use case 1: You don't have SIP credentials

Switch the button to "No" (red) the answer and hit "Create a new SIP device". Aircall generates the SIP credentials and a new device appears with 3 informations
  • Domain (this will usually be phone.plivo.com)
  • User ID (in the form:aircallxxxxxxxxxx)
  • Password (8 caracters)
Use these informations to configure the IP phone of the user.
This device then appears in the Dashboard and the App settings of the user. The user can use his/her App to activate or de-activate this device at his/her convenience.

Please note that incoming calls will ring on the IP phone (when it's activated). Outbound calls will be made from the default number that the user has configured in his/her app.

Use case 2: You already have SIP credentials

Select "yes" (green) to the question, and enter your domain name and User ID and hit "Create a new SIP device".

This device then appears in the Dashboard and the App settings of the user. The user can use his/her App to activate or de-activate this device at his/her convenience.

That's it, you're set !
